All you need to know

Sweet Studios exam procedure

We are so excited for our 2025 Exam sessions. Our students work so hard throughout the year and we look forward to celebrating their successes!

Dancers will need to arrive 1 hour 30 min before their scheduled exam time please. This is so dancers can have their hair done, and we can ensure they are warmed up and ready to go with plenty of time. If your dancer is in the first exam group of the day they can arrive at 7.45am. (Boys please arrive 1 hour prior).

Please make sure you are quiet when you arrive at the studios as exams will be in progress for the majority of the day.

A few friendly reminders for exams:

- No jewellery or nail polish

- Please check for head lice before your childs exam

- Bring your own hair brush and comb - all other hair accessories will be supplied on the day

- Bring something quiet for your dancer to do while they wait

- Please make sure bra straps are hidden under singlets
- If you require socks for your jazz/tap shoes, please make sure you have plain black ankle socks

- Please make sure your dancer has all the uniform they require for the exam

Exam uniform

Jazz, Tap and Contemporary

Girls (Jazz, Contemporary and Tap):

• Sweet Studios or DAPA shorts or long tights
• Sweet Studios or DAPA singlet or crop top
• Black Jazz shoes or Tap shoes
• Bare feet for contemporary

Boys (Jazz, Contemporary and Tap):

• Men’s muscle back
• Plain Black shorts
• Black Jazz shoes or Tap shoes
• Bare feet for contemporary

RAD Ballet - Pre Primary to Grade 5

On the exam day all girls leotards will be provided for candidates entering the exam or class award.

All students will need to make sure they bring their own socks or tights, character gear (if required) and shoes. Please see our 'All you need to know doc' for more detailed info.

Hip Hop

Sweet Studios T-shirt
Dancers own black leggings or trackpants
Dancers own black or white shoes

Exam hair

Jazz, Contemporary, Tap and Ballet

Hair will be done for you on the exam day with all hair accessories, (hair pins and hair ties etc.) provided. This cost is included in the ‘Exam Day fee’. Please bring your own hair brush and comb.
